Mother and child die from injuries in Munich car attack

Police said a 37-year-old mother and her two-year-old daughter died of injuries in a crash in Munich earlier this week.
At least 37 people were injured when a car was driven into the crowd Thursday.
Police said the driver was a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker and was identified as Farhad N in local media.
He was arrested at the scene and was arrested in court on Friday.
“Unfortunately, we must confirm the death today and the death of her 37-year-old mother,” police spokesman Ludwig Waldinger told News Agency AFP.
The car crash in the heart of Munich on Thursday came 10 days after Germans participated in the federal election polls, while immigrants carried out a series of earlier attacks.
The two alleged attackers were from Afghanistan.
