Ronnie O’Sullivan apologises for withdrawing from recent events
Seven-time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan apologized for withdrawing from the recent incident, saying he needs to prioritize his health and well-being.
O’Sullivan is expected to return at this week’s Welsh Open after a lack of the German Masters, Champions League masters and matches.
However, the 49-year-old Briton quit on Tuesday’s first round against Wales’ Jamie Clarke.
“I’ve been trying to prioritize my health and well-being, which sometimes means making last-minute decisions,” O’Sullivan said. “It’s never been an easy decision and I hate to let people down.
“I realized that when I withdraw, a lot of people were frustrated buying tickets for some of the recent snooker events, so I just wanted to say sorry.
“I’m doing everything I can to get back to my best and I appreciate all your support and understanding.”
He will next compete at the World Open at Yushan at the end of this month.
O’Sullivan has never played in the World Snooker Tour (WST) since withdrawing midway in January, snapping up his tips after losing four of his five games.
