President of Seychelles Holds Bilateral Talks with the Crown Prince of Dubai on the Margins of the World Government Summit 2025
Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, President of the Seychelles Republic, held a bilateral discussion with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, World Government Summit 2025, currently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both leaders to reaffirm the strong and long-term link between Seychelles and the UAE, especially in the areas of trade, investment, tourism and sustainable development. President Ramkaravan expressed deep appreciation for the continued support of the UAE in key sectors including infrastructure, renewable energy and capacity building.
The discussion also focused on strengthening economic cooperation, strengthening communication between people, and exploring new ways of cooperation in emerging industries such as technology and digital transformation. Mainly in the fields of “business services” and “investment portals”, implementing the “zero bureaucracy” strategy and “cybersecurity” in key departments. Both leaders highlighted their shared commitment to advancing sustainable development and climate resilience, in line with global efforts to address pressing environmental challenges.
President Ramkalawan praised the UAE’s leadership to promote innovation and governance excellence, as demonstrated by the World Government Summit. He reiterated Seychelles’ commitment to fostering international partnerships that contribute to the prosperity and well-being of its people.
Both leaders are confident in the continued growth of Seychelles-Oi people relations and are committed to a close effort to further deepen the bilateral bonds to promote mutual benefit.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Entrepreneurship, Mrs. Devika Vidot, Seychelles Ambassador in Abu Dhabi, Gervais Moumou Ambassador Gervais Moumou, Chargé D’Affaires, Ahmed Alneyadi: He Ahmed Alneyadi. Mr. Alex Henderson, a partnership officer for the Department of Investment, Entrepreneurs and Industry.
The President and other members of the Seychelles delegation also attended the official opening of the main plenary session of WGS 2025 this morning and participated in various other important high-level forums related to Seychelles.
