Labour suspends 11 councillors during WhatsApp group probe
Labor has suspended 11 MPs in Greater Manchester as part of an investigation into WhatsApp Group, sharing offensive information.
The group revealed on Sunday that it had resulted in two Labor MPs in the area.
Goldton and Denton Councilman Andrew Gwynne were suspended on Saturday, acknowledging his comments on “serious judgment.” He was also fired as Minister of Health.
Burnley Congressman Oliver Ryan was then suspended, saying he made a comment that “I am very sorry”.
A Labour spokesman said: “A group of MPs has been suspended in the Labour administration as part of our WhatsApp group investigation.
“Once we were caught, a thorough investigation was conducted in line with the rules and procedures of Labour and the process was underway.
“A quick action will always be taken if individuals are found to violate their high standards as members of the Labor Party.”
