Super Bowl 2025: Ex-Wales rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit to decide new NFL team ‘next week’
Former Welsh rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit said he is looking forward to his second year in U.S. football and expects the decision to make the effect he makes “next week or so.”
The 24-year-old is a free agent after the Jacksonville Jaguars chose not to sign a reserve/future contract, so he was able to negotiate with any team.
Rees-Zammit shocked the Rugby League when he announced his withdrawal from the sport to the NFL international player Pathway in January 2024, a 10-week crash course designed to teach and evaluate aspirations the player.
He initially signed with the Kansas City Chiefs for pre-season training, moved to Jacksonville last August and is now considering his 2025 plan to 2026.
“Yes, look for options,” Rees-Zammit told ITV Sport.
“I think about next week or so we’re going to decide where we are next year, but you know the past year has been (a) crazy experience. Mentally, physically, it’s tough, but it’s my journey’ve been wanting to Go up, so I like it.”
