“Large” sewer blockage caused by “fat, grease and rags” forced the cancellation of the Brian Adams concert in Australia on public health reasons.
Grammy Award-winning artists will perform at the RAC Arena in Perth on Sunday, but the city’s water company said the main risk of the lockdown tends to support the toilets in the venue.
Adams apologized to fans on social media – many of whom lined up for hours before being turned away – and thanked them for their “patience and support” before committing to trying to reschedule the show.
The concert’s promoters said the cancellation was “disappointing” and would provide a full refund for Ticketedorders.
“While doing everything possible to perform, the matter is not under the control of Bryan Adams, Border Tour and RAC Arena,” it wrote in a statement.
Perth Water said FATBERG, responsible for the interruption, had “caused several types of wastewater overflows” on major roads near the site and urged the public to avoid direct contact with the “merged water” in the area.
“We have caused inconvenience to this and will provide further updates as needed,” it said in a Facebook post.
Adams – known for tracks like the ’69 Summer, forgive me – made his debut in 1984 and has been a beloved performer nationwide ever since.
He posted on social media on Sunday: “I’m really sorry we can’t achieve this – I’m very much looking forward to meeting you guys.”
The Canadian rock star will still play in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne later this week.
Fatbergs are found in sewers around the world when fats, greases and greases solidify and combine with items like rags or wet wipes.
They are known to cause severe blockage and environmental hazards. last year, Fatberg weighs roughly the same as three double-decker buses Clear from the East London sewer. New York, Denver, Melbourne and Valencia have all found huge Fatebergs to block their waterways in recent years.
