Mr. Tekleab Misghina, Director-General of Regulatory Services, said the department has made efforts through regional inspectors to ensure safety before animal and plant-based foods enter the market. Efforts have also been made to maintain appropriate food processing chains and to prevent cross-contamination between 18 food and processing plants.
