U.S. President Donald Trump said he is revoking the security permit of his predecessor, Joe Biden.
“Joe Biden does not need to continue receiving confidential information,” Trump wrote in a post about the Truth Society.
He said his government will therefore revoke his security permit and daily intelligence briefings. “Joe, you’re fired,” he said.
Republicans say he was doing what Biden did to him when he was president.
Biden “in 2021, when he instructed the intelligence community (IC) to block the 45th U.S. President (ME!) from accessing details about national security, this is the details provided by the former president.”
He said Biden “cannot trust sensitive information” citing the Justice Department’s investigation into Democratic Party’s storage of confidential files Biden has a poor memory.
Biden has been away from the spotlight since leaving the position last month, but has not responded to the comments yet.
After taking office in 2021, Biden banned Trump from receiving intelligence briefings traditionally to the former president on the grounds of “unstable behavior.”
