Cara Gainer seals first Ladies European Tour title at Lalla Meryem Cup
England’s Cara Gainer won her first European Tour of her career in the play-offs in the Lalla Meryem Cup on Saturday.
The 29-year-old defeated India’s Diksha Dagar in her 76th match on the tour and canceled the championship in Morocco.
Gainer’s final round was 69, while 24-year-old Dagar finished with 67 under 67, putting the two tied for 9 overall.
Dagar’s bogey opened the playoff hole for Gainer and opened the door to victory.
Lauren Walsh of Ireland joined No. 4 with Nuria Iturrioz under the age of seven, while Annabell Fuller of England is in Nazi, France Nastasia Nadaud ended the level with six points in six points.
Gainer was one of nine players chasing Shannon Tan overnight after Friday’s third round.
However, Singapore’s tan was surpassed by the first nine holes as she failed to make any birdies and ended up in third place.
Iturrioz started with a lead of four consecutive birdies, but the Spaniard stepped down from the run after the last nine four bogeys.
