Bobsleigh World Cup: British pair win bronze in Lillehammer
Britain’s Brad Hall won the second podium of the World Cup two-sled season, ranking third in a European championship match.
Hall and teammate Taylor Lawrence ensured that a strong German contingent could not complete clear medals on the Norwegian track.
They were behind 0.48 seconds behind Germany’s World Cup leader Francesco Friedrich, with his compatriot Johannes Lochner in second place, but they were third in the German crew Adam Ammour was eliminated in 200 seconds.
“It’s a great day whenever you assign Germans among two,” Lawrence said. The British team improved their third place in the overall ranking.
The GB crew has a 218-point lead over Italy’s Patrick Baumgartner, who is fourth with only one game left this season with a maximum of 225 points to win.
Hall and Lawrence became the first British team ever to win an overall medal in a two-person event when they won a bronze medal in 2023.
Now, noticed the four-player series, which continues on Sunday at Lillehammer.
Lawrence added: “A medal at the European Championships and the World Cup is always a good thing, and now we are ready to go again tomorrow in four, and things there are in our favor.”
The British four-man crew, also led by Hall, is second in four out of four of the five games so far.
