San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, the last pick in the 2022 National Football League draft, has become synonymous with flaws in the NFL player evaluation. Al Guido, the team’s president, hopes his organization can rely on artificial intelligence to improve talent assessments in football and football.
Purdy, who led the 49ers to the Super Bowl last year, dropped to the 262 pick, partly because the scout metrics failed to identify some of the characteristics that made him successful in the quarterback.
