President Ramkalawan Visits Registrar General’s Office, Reaffirms Commitment to Digital Transformation

Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, President of the Republic of Seychelles, formally visited the Registrar’s Office this morning, highlighting his government’s commitment to modernizing public services through digital transformation.

President Ramkalawan, accompanied by senior officials, began a full tour of the ground facilities, where he observed the operations of the business registration and intellectual property department, the key sector that drives business development and protects the business in Seychelles. . The delegation then headed to the main secretariat and other key departments on the first floor.

A key aspect of this visit was a strategic meeting with senior management, with discussions focused on institutional achievements, ongoing challenges and future modernization plans. This involvement provides valuable insights into the operation of the office and strengthens the government’s dedication to improving the efficiency of public services.

As Minister of Public Administration, President Ramkalawan spoke to the media with Mrs. Wendy Pierre, the Registrar, outlined the goals of the visit and the strategic direction of the department. He praised employees’ efforts to improve operational efficiency through digitalization, highlighting the positive impact on access to citizen services.

“We have witnessed significant improvements in processing efficiency when transitioning to digital services,” President Ramkalawan said, further announcing the upcoming legislative reforms aimed at bringing the legal framework to the modernization drive of the office.
