British couple found dead at home in south of France
A British couple was found dead at their home in southwestern France.
French media reported that they were both old in their 60s and the couple was believed to have lived in Scotland for many years before moving to France.
Jean-Scalenia Orcibal, the designer’s mayor, Tell French TV Death is obviously a homicide.
It is understood that they lived in the small village of Les Pesquiès, south of Villefranche-De-Rouergue, for about 10 years.
Local media reported that neighbors found the body around 12:20 on Thursday and police investigations are still underway.
Mr Orcibal dismissed the speculation that the death was due to a “error” of the burglary and said “the knife was not found.”
The couple is described as “integrating well” in the village.
A helicopter, drone, criminal investigation technician and forensic doctor were seen at home all Thursday.
LesPesquiès has about 100 residents and the area is popular among expats.
A spokesman for the British Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British couple who died in France and contacted local authorities.”
