Six Nations 2025: Wales include Taulupe Faletau and Eddie James to face Italy
Gatland’s side faces Italian costumes, beaten 31-19 by Scotland in Edinburgh in the first round of the game.
Wales have not been beaten in Rome since 2007, and their most recent Six Nations victory was a trip to Italy two years ago.
Next comes seven consecutive defeats in the game, which will leave Gatland’s team intending to continually play against Ireland and England, as well as a trip to Scotland.
Another loss from Wales in the world rankings could also bring Wales to its lowest position.
“It’s been a big week and a lot of effort was done during the training,” Gatland said.
“We want to be accurate and disciplined on Saturday. It’s about our execution and how we manage the game.
“We know Italy is a quality aspect of physical athletes and are looking forward to a good match. We are excited about Saturday’s challenge.”
