National University Sports Association Thursday renew Its transgender student-athletes policy Trans women are prohibited from participating in women’s sports the day after the president Donald Trump sign Executive Order Statement The federal government will provide funding for schools that allow trans women to do so.

The new policy says that students assigned by men at birth may practice with the women’s team and receive related benefits, such as medical services, but do not allow them to participate in formal competition. All students, regardless of gender or gender, can participate in the men’s team, although athletes taking testosterone must complete the medical exemption process. Students who were assigned to women at birth to take testosterone or engaged in hormone therapy were also prohibited from using the women’s team.

The NCAA previously followed Olympic standards to postpone the national governing bodies of sports to determine the eligibility of transgender athletes. The organization adopted policy January 2022.

“The NCAA is an organization of 1,100 universities in 50 states that jointly register over 530,000 student-athletes. We firmly believe that clear, consistent and unified eligibility criteria can best serve today’s student-athletes, rather than a blob. NCAA President Charlie Baker said in a press release:

Baker Tell A Senate panel in December, he knew there were less than 10 NCAA athletes at the moment.

Trump’s latest move is based on his previous Executive Order Announced that only two genders and demanding federal agencies stopped promoting “gender ideology,” the White House said, “a biological category that replaces gender with changing concepts of self-assessment of gender identity.” He also Signed Executive Order Transgender people are prohibited from serving publicly.

In Instagram videoTrans triathlon and trans rights advocate Chris Mosier said the policy focuses on the focus of the gender assigned by athletes at birth, as a binary concept only.

“This reflects the president’s attempt to legislate executive orders for trans and non-binary identities,” Moses said.

Moses also said the policy affected women and women both sexes who were treated with hormones for medical reasons, such as treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome. The NCAA does not mention the medical exception process for athletes to join the women’s team.
