GAA Annual report: Director general says August All-Ireland Finals a possibility

Ryan reported that GAA’s revenue increased from £93 million in 2023 to £110 million in 2024, which had six concerts and two rugby games at Croke Park.

In 2024, attendance at inter-county matches fell by 10%, which Ryan believes is explained in part by the “lack of danger” in several championship games and is not satisfied with the style of modern football – GAA bosses hope that the new rules can hope for Some new rules can be corrected.

Croke Park Ltd operates the GAA headquarters with a 42% increase in turnover and revenue of just £50m thanks to the concert schedule, which includes four Coldplay dates and Bruce Springsteen and AC/DC performance.

After deducting salary (£15 million), the £13.3 million of the £50 million was handed directly to the GAA’s central parliament.

The report of the GAA Director-General also outlines the association’s spending more than £17 million on stadium improvements in Croke Park, including the £11 million Cusack stall.

Although Croke Park’s financial situation is positive, the county board’s situation is less optimistic, with profits of £1.5 million compared to the £3.4 million figure in 2023.

GAA Finance Director Ger Mulryan believes that inter-county spending is the main factor in the decline, and the cost of preparing squads reached nearly £37 million in 2024.

“It’s hard to see how well we are at the moment, and if we don’t arrest it, it will take us in five to ten years,” Ryan added.
