Luke Littler: Defending Premier League title ‘would mean everything’ to world champion

World champion Luke Littler said retaining his Premier League Darts title “will mean everything”.

The 18-year-old won the Eight Player Elite Invitational in 2024, beating Luke Humphries in the Decider.

Littler was on the championship defense against Michael Van Gerwen in Belfast on Thursday in the World Championship final, where he won the Premier League Darts last year in the last year The first night.

“Since last year, I knew these players would have to beat me out of the bag,” Littler said.

“This is probably the biggest game I will defend at the Global Championship.”

The Premier League darts were held for 16 nights in February, March, April and May in the UK, Ireland and Europe before the playoffs in London on May 29.

Littler said his goal is to secure the top four to get a spot on final night at London’s O2 Arena.

“I have to finish the top four, but I want to win tomorrow night.

“If it doesn’t happen, I’ll reset it, but I hope to get started as fast as the Worlds Finals tomorrow.

“I’ve been fourth or fifth throughout the week (last year), I keep running and I’ve won more.”
