Ramaphosa Defends South Africa’s Land Reform Policy Following Trump Threat
Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa, denied the allegations of US President Donald Trump that his government was “confiscating land” and abused white farmers. Ramaphosa emphasized that South Africa is a constitutional democracy that is committed to the rule of law, justice and peace, and rejected the claim of being confiscated. He pointed out that although the United States is an important strategic partner, its financial support for Bresolia is limited to AIDS/AIDS relief plan. RAMAPHOSA explained that the new land requisition method signed in January aims to ensure fair land acquisition rather than a tool for confiscation. He welcomes further participation in these bilateral issues. The statement of Ramaphosa was published before Trump threatened to cut off the funds to South Africa until the investigation was charged with chaos.
