French Giant Faces Delays as U.S. Blocks Mozambique LNG Project Funding
Before Biden Administration left the office, Totalenergies failed to obtain approval of nearly $ 5 billion in financing from the Mozambique LNG project in the United States. CEO PatrickPouyanné urged officials to speed up approval and worry about delay under Trump’s leadership. The United States Export International Bank is now reviewing the terms of the project. Since 2021, the Islamic rebellion and human rights charges have been stagnating. Other governments, including Britain and the Netherlands, are re -evaluating funds. Without restarting, the ambitious energy of the 2029 production schedule is in danger, which increases the uncertainty of one of Africa’s largest energy investment.
