Radio 2 breakfast presenter ‘overwhelmed’ on his first show
Scott Mills welcomes the audience on Monday to watch his first BBC broadcast second breakfast show. He told the audience that it was “a bit unbearable.”
The broadcasting company took the presented seat from Zoe Ball, and Zoe Ball resigned last month after serving as the host six years.
In the opening white, Mills told the audience: “As a radio host and the radio fans of my life, honestly, I still find it difficult to accept this situation that is happening.”
He joked that when he introduced Robby Williams’s rock DJ to officially kick off the performance, everyone was guessing what his first song would be.
“Let’s start, this is the BBC Broadcasting Skate Mills breakfast show. I can’t believe I finally said these words,” he said.
“I have been working on BBC for 25 years. Many of you may grow up listening to my song. I believe many of you don’t know much about me at all.
“In any case, if you can make me a part of your routine in the morning, honestly, this is of great significance, because I will go all out. I really want you to like it.”
Mills followed the footsteps of the previous Radio 2 breakfast host Ball, Chris Evans, Terry Worgen, Ken Bruce and Derek Jameson.
“If I think too much about the predecessor of this show, it will be shocking for me, because I am a child who wants to go on a radio station but is not sure if I have confidence to truly do this,” “” Mills reflected.
“The purpose here is to make you smile, improve your mood, let you dance in the car, bed, shower room, or kitchen, let your shoulders and heads dance, and keep you in the morning. It feels not good. “
Mills joined the Radio 2 working day show in 2022, replacing Steve Wright as the host of the afternoon.
Prior to this, he worked at Radio 1 for nearly thirty years and hosted weekend programs at 5 Live.
The host told the audience on Monday that he hoped that “this show became a show that I really want you to like and look forward to it every day.”
Other live broadcasts of the breakfast show include the tourist show host Ellie Brennan, while Tina Daheley is a news announcer. The BBC breakfast broadcast program hosted by Zoe Ball, Chris Moyles, Nick Grimshaw, and Trevor Nelson.
Several audiences recalled the comments published by Mills last year, and he said, “Remind me never to make breakfast shows.”
Mills recalled on Monday’s comments and explained: “This is what I said in the” Global Race “program, when we had to get up early to complete the task.
“Elli just bought me a card, the above is the real scene of” Global Racing “. The matter has changed, do you know?”
Breakfast shows are regarded as the most prestigious flagship show in the radio show.
However, as far as RADIO 2 is concerned, it is not the highest listening program.
This honor was obtained from a program around 10 am and was currently hosted by Vernon Kay. He replaced Ken Bruce in 2023.
As the bosses updated the timetable, Kai and Mills were attracted to the two DJs of the radio station from the first radio station.
Now, Radio 2’s working days also include programs of Nelson, Sara Cox and Jo WHILEY, which is similar to the Radio 1 timetable in the 1910s.
But not all previous Radio 1 DJs will automatically turn to Radio 2. Moyles is now hosting a breakfast show on Radio X, and Grimshaw recently took over the BBC Radio 6 music breakfast show.
When talking about his goal of the second breakfast show, Mills told the audience: “I hope you will listen every morning and make it the first choice for you, where you know that the second broadcast will definitely excite you. Stand up, listen to some interesting things or a great music for you. “
Mills played a voice message including Linda Rands, including Linda Rands. She is a retired opera singer and became the favorite of the audience in the latest “Traitor” series.
