Maika Sivo: Leeds Rhinos’ new signing out for 2025 after pre-season knee injury
Leeds Rhinos winger Micah Siwo suffered a serious knee injury in a pre-season friendly and will miss the entire 2025 Super League season.
The 31-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in the 22-4 win over Wigan Warriors in Ash Handley’s farewell game on Sunday.
The Fiji international will miss the upcoming season before making his debut for the club. signed a three-year agreement From NRL side Parramatta Eels in October.
“Our first thoughts are with Micah and we are all going to be around him to provide support to him and his family,” head coach Brad Arthur said.
“Our medical team will ensure he receives the best possible treatment for a speedy recovery.
“Micah is a strong man and I believe he will devote himself to his recovery and get back to his best.”
After Siwo joined Headingley, he reunited with Arthur, who had been in charge of Sydney Parramatta Club for 10 years.
His injury creates a headache for the Rhinos with just over two weeks left until the start of the season.
“As far as our squad is concerned, we need to review the entire situation and consider all our options,” added sporting director Ian Bryce.
“We have some excellent young players who may well now get their chance and I will be discussing all of our options with the club, Brad and the coaching staff over the next few weeks before the season starts.”
