Teenager dies after car hit by falling tree in Ayrshire
A teenager was injured when a falling tree struck him during a storm.
The 19-year-old focused his blue Ford on the B743 at Mohling, East Ayrshire, at around 06:45 when the crash occurred on Friday.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment but died on Saturday.
There was an Amber weather warning in place for the area at the time. The crash occurred more than three hours before a red weather warning was in effect.
Sergeant Chris McColm, of Police Scotland’s road policing unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased.”
He was the second person to die after Friday’s storm.

More than 20,000 homes and businesses in Scotland are still without power two days after the storm hit.
More than 14,000 SP Energy Network customers in central and southern Scotland remain off-grid.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said it had 7,500 customers without power.
Rail and ferry connections remain severely affected across the country, with warnings of severe disruption to continue throughout Sunday.
Train operator Scotrail said engineers were working to restore the network after 400 individual incidents were recorded on Friday and Saturday.
Calmac has started running some ferries on its island routes, although these remain prone to delays and cancellations due to continued adverse weather, storm damage and power outages.
