Man arrested after car driven at police officer
A 19 -year -old man was arrested for attempted murder, and a policeman was seriously injured by the vehicle.
The Great Manchester Police (GMP) said that on Saturday night, the police officer was responding to a suspicious report on a retail park in Chiderwimslo Road, and she was attacked at the time.
GMP said that when she was close to the car in the parking lot, the car drove to her at a high speed.
Inspector John Picton said: “This incident is really shocking and shows how fast the situation of our frontline police officers is upgraded.”
The police officer was taken to the hospital and received injuries there.
“Never explain why this incident needs to end in this way,” the inspector Picon added.
He said the police officer recovered very well and “received the support of everyone in Stockpo SAR.”
A police spokesman said they “condemned all police officers who were committed to protecting the community from harm.”
