iOS 18.2: Bring the Volume Bar Back to Your Lock Screen in 4 Easy Steps

Apple releases iOS 18.2 In December, more than a month after the company released iOS 18.1. This update brings some new Apple Intelligence features to some iPhones, such as Genmon Temple and Image Playground App. It also lets you add the volume bar back to the lock screen if you want.

Apple will eliminate the volume bar on the lock screen when it releases iOS 16 in 2022. This means that if you want to raise and lower the volume of your music or podcasts without unlocking your iPhone, you have to use the volume buttons on the side of your iPhone.

Pressing these buttons will increase or decrease the volume by a certain amount, but this may leave you choosing between a volume that’s slightly too loud or too quiet. With iOS 18.2, you can bring the volume bar back to the Lock screen, giving you more precise volume control without unlocking your iPhone.

Here’s how to reintroduce the volume bar to the lock screen in iOS 18.2.

How to get the volume bar on iPhone

1. Open set up.
2. tap Accessibility.
3. tap audio-visual below hearing.
4. Click the switch next to Always show volume control.

Now, the next time you’re listening to music or podcasts at the gym or on the bus, you can change the volume using the slider on your lock screen.
