Tanzanian Opposition Party Chadema Elects Tundu Lissu as Leader
Tundu Lissu is the famous and blunt politician in Tanzania. After defeating the long -term leader Freeman Mbowe in a fierce campaign, he was elected as the main opposition party Chadma ( Chadema) Chairman. Lissu received 51.5% votes, while Mbowe received 48% of votes. He called for changing the party’s leadership structure and re -introduction of term restrictions. Lisu also criticized Mobova that it was said to have a reconciliation attitude towards the ruling Chama Chama Ping Duz (CCM) party. He claimed that this weakened the public’s trust in Chadma. Mobov has led the party for more than 20 years to run for continuity, and said that he still has more jobs to strengthen the party. Nevertheless, he quickly acknowledged failure and congratulated Lisu and his team to win. With the approach of the October election in Tanzania in October, Lisu’s victory marks the position of the opposition’s position to become better.
