Six Nations : Alex King not involved in Wales coaching team as Rob Howley takes over attack coach role
Alex King will not be part of Warren Gatland’s six-nation backroom squad in 2025, with Rob Howley taking over as attacking coach Role.
King, 50, was appointed by Wales head coach Warren Gatland in December 2022 following the departure of Stephen Jones.
King has been in his element throughout his two Six Nations campaigns and the 2023 World Cup as Wales reach the quarter-finals.
There is no official reason from the Wales Rugby Union (WRU) that he will not be involved in the coaching staff due to King’s absence, with former Wales attack coach Howley taking over his previous role.
Gatland’s coaching team have worked with scrum expert Adam Jones to improve Wales’ backroom staff.
Psychology and human performance specialist Andy McCann has also been appointed to the Championship, while Mike Forshaw and Neil Jenkins will continue in defensive and skills roles.
