The new map is Zombies built from the ground up. It does not reuse any locations from the campaign or Warzone modes.
The tomb will be smaller than maps like Terminus and Citadelle des Morts, forcing a tighter play area to be involved. The returning Black Ops 4 PERK Death Sense is designed to help players deal with this increased threat by providing more insight into where nearby zombies are. Additionally, new traps such as Arrow Traps and Aether Lanterns will rain down damaged energy bolts in the pinch.
Treyarch cited Liberty Falls as a key factor in the new map’s design philosophy, explaining that the Black Ops 6 launch map is a replay of the Zombies experience in recent years.
Fan-favorite weapons will return, including the PPSH-41 SMG and “reimagined wonder weapons inspired by (Treyarch’s) past.” This wonder weapon comes from the crew of ICE in Origins, the regular zombies map introduced in Black Ops 2 and remastered for Black Ops 3. The new Easter Egg will reward players with Janus Skins for New Wonder weapons.
As always, any weapons introduced in the multiplayer battle pass or seasonal events will be available in Zombies mode loadouts. When Season 2 launches, three new Gobblegums will also debut and earn money in Graveyard and other Black Ops 6 Zombies maps.
In addition to the main Easter Egg, the tomb will also focus on Easter eggs – such as the Liberty Falls Bowling Alley Minigame and the Bank Vault.
Black Ops 6 Season 2 Lifespan Improvements Revealed
It looks like the start of Season 2 will be heavily focused on improving the Black OPS 6 Zombies experience, but that doesn’t mean the multiplayer mode has been kept high and dry. At the start of Season 2, four key changes are made to player quality of life.
- Multiplayer and Zombies Mode Challenge Tracking: Players will now be able to track multiplayer and Zombies challenges separately. Additionally, players can now bring 10 challenges to each mode at any given time – without manually pinned challenges, Black Ops 6 will show players the challenge they are closest to completing.
- Separate HUDs for multiplayer and zombies modes: Players who want to use different HUD layouts for different modes can now toggle each option between Multiplayer and Zombies without having to toggle each option.
- Cooperation suspended: If everyone in the lobby is grouped in a single co-op party, pausing in Zombies mode will work just like it does in an individual session. Crucially, this feature won’t work if you don’t join a party with every player in a co-op game.
- AFK kick load recovery: If you kicked out of Zombies for a long time, you can now rejoin the lobby and restore your weapons, equipment, scores, and perks.
