Dominic Solanke: Spurs injury crisis deepens with striker out for ‘around six weeks’
Tottenham has a shortage due to injury problems. In the game against Hoffenheim, Postecoru could only designate eight substitute players, including two goalkeepers and five teenagers.
The three players who played for Hoffenheim played for the alternatives were all 19 years old or below, including 17 -year -old rookie Carm Olussei.
“These guys are doing their best. There should be five teenagers who should not ignore me (on the court),” Perstecorgru said.
“We are a Premier League team in the European away game. We have five teenagers. This is almost unheard of in an important game, not dead glue. This shows that these people are willing to bear their own responsibilities. Don’t make excuses.
“I am not an evaluation of the players who lead us through the difficulties. I hope that with the return of some players, they will get some help soon. We are in a very good position in Europe.”
Tottenham is currently ranked fourth in the Europa League standings. If they defeat Eldesburg in the eighth round, they will become one of the eight teams directly entering the knockout stage.
Their progress in the cup has in sharp contrast to their performance in the league. In the Premier League, they only won one game in the past 10 games, and currently ranked 15th, 8 points higher than the relegation zone.
