David Gaskell: Youngest ever Manchester United player dies aged 84
Manchester United’s youngest player record holder David Gasker died at the age of 84.
In October 1956, the former goalkeeper Gasker played for the first time in the match against Manchester City for the first time in Manchester United. At that time, he was only 16 years old and 19 days old.
After being promoted by Matt Basby to the first team, he played for Manchester United for 11 seasons and won two league championship with the club.
Gaskel also participated in the 1963 FA Cup finals to help Manchester United defeat the city of Wimble.
Dave Gasker’s family wrote in a statement issued on the club website: “Dave Gasker left not only the extraordinary sports heritage, but also the immortal example of kindness, dedication and humility. Fortunately people will miss him deeply and love him affectionately. “
