Women’s Ashes 2025: Australia win series outright after rain-affected T20 in Canberra
England remain winless in the Women’s Ashes while Australia completed a resounding series victory by winning a dramatic, rain-affected second T20 match by six runs.
In Canberra, England were 186 to win, needing 18 wickets from the last 5 overs with Heather Knight making an unbeaten 43, but then heavy rain hit and the match couldn’t be played Keep going.
England finished on 168-4, an agonizing six runs short of the required score set by the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
As a result, Australia took a 12-0 lead in the points-based series, ending England’s hopes of a draw.
Rain also disrupted the visitors’ chase after 8.4 overs, with England leading DLS by two runs at 69 for 1, but the weather had moderated enough for play to resume without the loss of any overs.
