Chris Wood: Nottingham Forest striker signs extension until 2027
Nottingham Forest forward Chris Wood has signed a new contract keeping him at the City Ground until 2027.
Wood has been one of the stars so far this season, scoring 14 goals in 22 Premier League games to help Forest finish third.
The 33-year-old joined Forest on loan from Newcastle in January 2023 and completed the permanent transfer in June of that year.
Despite only being at the club for two years He is their top scorer in the Premier Leaguesurpassing Bryan Roy’s record of 24 in December.
“I’m super excited, super happy to be able to get it done and at least I’m looking forward to it for the next few years,” Wood said.
“When I first arrived I could see the ambition. When I spoke to the owner and his family and saw what they wanted to achieve and what they saw for the club – it was clear they had big ambitions and Big dreams. He has been supporting the club for many years, even before promotion to the Premier League, which is fantastic and the team is going in the right direction.
“My gratitude to the fans cannot be overstated, they are always vocal, they always support the team and me and it is a pleasure to play in front of them. Wish us many more years to spend together.”
