Six Nations 2025: Former Wales prop Adam Jones added to Warren Gatland coaching staff
Jones played 95 games for Wales and five Tests for the British and Irish Lions on two tours, winning 100 international caps.
He made his England debut in 2003 and went on to win four Six Nations titles and play in three World Cups.
Jones toured South Africa with the Lions in 2009 and four years later was a cornerstone of Australia’s series victory.
He starred for Neath and Ospreys and played one season for Cardiff Blues before joining Harlequins in 2015.
After taking on both coaching and playing duties, Jones announce retirement In 2018, he served as a full-time coach with the Quins, helping props like Joe Marler, Kyle Sinckler and Fin Baxter.
“Representing your country as a player or coach is a huge honour,” Harlequins director of rugby Billy Millard said.
“When we were informed of Adam’s opportunity we wanted to work with him and the Welsh Rugby Union to develop a solution that worked for everyone.
“We have no doubt he will benefit greatly from coaching experience at international level and learn from the experience, while continuing to support Danny (Wilson) and the wider coaching staff throughout the Premiership Rugby Cup season.”
Former Harlequins and Wales center and current WRU board member Jamie Roberts benefited greatly from McCann’s work as a player.
