Congress of Members of the First Round of National Service – Africa.com
The first round of members of the National Association of Service Cooperatives held a congress in Asmara on January 19 under the theme “Our Vision: Representation of Our Society”.
At the meeting, Mr. Cemal Saleh, Chairman of the Association, reported on the activities carried out since the establishment of the Association, focusing on the goals and mission of the Association.
Jemal emphasized that while strengthening organizational cooperation, the association also actively participated in mass activities such as greening, voluntary blood donation, and cultural activities. He also expressed the hope that the association would play an important role in conveying noble social values to the younger generation.
Speaking at the meeting, General Flipos Woldeyohannes, Chief of Staff of the Eritrean Defense Forces, urged the association to prioritize fostering nationalism and familiarize members with historical sites that showcase heroic deeds.
General Flippos also stressed the need to expand the educational support provided by the association to Asmara students in grades one to four to other parts of the country.
Participants held an in-depth discussion on the report and elected an executive committee consisting of 14 people.
The first round of the National Service Cooperation Federation was established in January 2022 and currently has about a thousand members.
