4 men arrested in connection to burglary at Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s home
Four men arrested for allegedly breaking into Bengals quarterback Joe BurrowAuthorities said Tuesday that he was at his home in Ohio last month.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said they each face multiple charges, including participating in a criminal gang and possessing criminal tools.
Bastian Morales, 23, Jordan Sanchez, 22, Sergio Cabello, 38, and Alexander Chavez, 24, all from Chile, were charged with a series of crimes against Burglaries in multi-million dollar homes.
The men were detained after being pulled over by police on Jan. 10, who later found punch tools that investigators said were used to break the windows of the home, according to an affidavit filed in Clark County.
Police said Sanchez, Morales and Cabello were driving when they were pulled over and gave Ohio Highway Patrol troopers false IDs. Sanchez also did not have a valid driver’s license, the affidavit said. Chavez was the only one with an actual driver’s license, which was from New York, the affidavit said. They told police they were watching snow in Ohio, according to the affidavit.
Police also found an old LSU shirt and a Bengals hat in the car, the affidavit said. Authorities believe the items were among those stolen from Burrow’s home on Dec. 9, 2024.
The Hamilton County Sheriff said Burrow’s Cincinnati home was broken into while Texas was on the road for a game against the Dallas Cowboys. It was part of a handful of targeted attacks on the homes of high-profile athletes.
Home of the Kansas City Chiefs Superstars in October Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were broken just days apart. Sources told CBS News last month that investigators are looking into whether the burglary was the work of a transnational criminal gang.
The men were held on $250,000 bail and are being represented by a public defender, according to court records.
