While some details may still change, depending on Eowyn’s exact path across the UK, the strongest winds on Friday are likely to sweep across northern and western parts of Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, England and Wales.
The Met Office has warned of gusts of 80-90mph (129-145km/h) in hilly areas along the Irish Sea.

Elsewhere, gusts of 50-65 mph (80-105 km/h) are expected in parts of northern and western Scotland, the Midlands and southern England, but gusts of up to 80 mph are expected around coastal areas ( 129 km/h).
Meteorological Bureau yellow warning Adjustments and possible upgrades may be made by Friday.
These winds and winds may bring travel disruptions and some damage, which may include blown roof tiles and power outages.
Large swells and coastal flooding are also expected.
Rain is also expected and, although it will become milder for some areas, particularly in the south, it will still be cold enough for snow in the mountains of Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland.
