MSI Cubi NUC 1M mini PC review
this MSI Index The Cubi NUC 1M is an interesting compact computer. It has two Ethernet ports rated at 2.5GbE, yet it’s small enough to fit comfortably in the hand. Although Cubi desktops have been around for a while, the NUC name is a new addition to MSI’s lineup.
with many best mini pc Compared to the devices we’ve reviewed, the MSI Cubi NUC 1M aims to be a great business desktop, offering a wide range of ports in a small, efficient device. But what this little desktop is probably best at is staying undetected.
MSI Cubi NUC 1M: price and availability
The MSI Cubi NUC 1M has a base price of $649.99, going up to $999.99 for the Core 7 model with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Depending on what you plan to use this device for, it might be worth a little more to “designate” this person out, but that’s just me.
MSI Cubi NUC 1M: Unboxing and first impressions
The MSI packaging I’ve seen has always been minimalist and focused on sustainability as they use recycled materials and other materials that are supposed to work better than others. Anyway, I also noticed that everything was packed very well; nothing fell out or was too loose. Every component has its place and I wire my computer into one – that’s the goal.
The package contains the computer, power adapter, some documentation and an optional VESA mount, which I found very interesting. This may be because I don’t usually see VESA mounts on computers, or it may be because my mind was already there when I knew my Cubi NUC 1M was on its way to me. Since this computer is so small and has such a powerful port selection, my mind didn’t jump to “this computer will replace my powerful laptop.” Still, it jumps to “This could easily be a server, or a display manager, or a front-end computer, or a desk setup, or a doctor’s office setup, etc.”
MSI Cubi NUC 1M: Design and build quality

The compact design is small but mighty. I think it’s because this computer has a certain amount of functionality under its casing that I would consider using this machine as a media server, as a way to display content in a corporate lobby, as a A way to record important information in the consulting office or even have the front desk rely on this machine to capture valuable customer information. That’s why having an optional VESA mount makes sense. Because this computer can easily be hidden behind a monitor, it can be placed on the monitor arm and forgotten about, or it can be installed behind the TV, under the table, or anywhere out of sight and out of mind. Meanwhile, it continues to perform as needed.
MSI’s new NUC 1M: in use
Now, I’ll start with an honest statement: I don’t want this computer to play games or edit 4k Video in DaVinci Resolve. I didn’t pick up this computer to be a photo editing machine or to have it be my coding powerhouse to run my most complex scripts.
I want to use this as my Plex media server because I can hide it and take advantage of the 16GB and 1TB of storage along with an Ethernet line to keep everything running smoothly. I’d like to use it in the front desk of my office, thanks to the multiple HDMI outputs and other ports, ease of use, and ability to easily hide and install. I want to embarrassment hand this to doctors with ancient skills so they can retire 23″ Dell The towers were tied to a cart and allowed to roll. I want to utilize this as a display tool to push two different TVs in the lobby of my local business.
I have a thousand ways to use it; however, the question comes back to a very simple question: What able What does this device do?
One of the greatest features of this computer (if not the greatest feature) is its port offering. On the back there are dual HDMI ports, two Thunderbolt ports, two 2.5G Ethernet cables, two USB-A ports, and a power port. On the front there’s a headphone jack, two USB-A ports, a microSD card reader, and a power button.
It handles basic management tasks and even light multimedia well. It’s a great machine for processing email, recording your latest findings in a spreadsheet, running your accounting software, and even acting as a middleman for your file server.
The multi-output is suitable for use as a multi-monitor desktop setup, whether on a desktop or as a digital monitor. Redundant network ports show reliability even during network outages (assuming the second network is from a different ISP).
So, I put this computer to the test. I connected two networks and simulated an outage by disconnecting power from the modem on one of the networks. For me, there are no noticeable interruptions or downtime to what I’m doing, which makes me think this computer would make an excellent VIP station that can handle anything. It can hold important patient data, it can be a server (although not very powerful, it can hold important information), or it can be a display server utilizing dual networks and dual HDMI.
Another test I performed was how well this computer handled my daily workflow, managing systems for multiple businesses, a lot of Chrome windows due to having so many admin tabs open, research articles for product reviews, and a ton of projects Management tools run simultaneously through two monitors. In the few days I spent testing this computer with real-world settings, I was surprised that no issues arose. The only problem is that I’m personally moving from a laptop to a desktop which means I lose portability but for my business side of tasks the performance wise is great which shows that this computer can handle quite a bit A heavy day’s work without a single issue – I wouldn’t use it for creative tasks like video editing, though, nor would I use it to run scripts
