Kai Havertz: Teenage boy arrested on suspicion of sending online abuse to Arsenal striker and wife
A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of “malicious communications” after he insulted Arsenal striker Kai Havertz and his wife online.
Hertfordshire Police said the 17-year-old boy, from St Albans, has been bailed and inquiries continue.
Havertz’s wife Sofia posted two private messages she received after the Arsenal game on her Instagram Story FA Cup loss to Manchester United That included threats against the couple’s unborn child earlier this month.
The 25-year-old German striker missed a chance to win the game in normal time before being saved by United goalkeeper Altay Baindil in the penalty shootout, which ended with United winning 5-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. 3 wins.
The couple have been together since 2018 and married last year, with Sofia announcing she was pregnant in November.
Responding to the messages, Sofia wrote that the culprits should be “ashamed” of themselves, while Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said online abuse of players has “horrible consequences” and needs to be “removed from the game” eradicated.”
