Ugreen Uno 10000mAh 30W power bank review: it may look like a robot, but it’s not built like a tank
Ugreen Uno 10,000mAh 30W power bank review
The Ugreen Uno 10,000mAh 30W power bank offers a variety of ways to keep your devices running, with a friendly exterior design that injects some fun into the dreary world of charging.
The cute robot’s design is so minimalist that you might only notice it if you look closely; unlike the rest of the Uno line, it doesn’t have feet or handles.
It’s relatively compact for a 10,000mAh power bank, but it’s still thick and the screen is slightly raised, as is the power button on the side; the Uno isn’t a perfectly flat rectangle like some best power banksuch as Ugreen 10,000mAh Magnetic Wireless Power Bank or Anker 621 Magnetic Battery (MagGo).
The overall build quality is good, although it feels a little flimsy in places and the press can deform the plastic chassis, so this isn’t a power bank I’d feel comfortable taking on a more rugged trip. Still, the screen is nice and thick, and seems pretty resistant to scratches (at least minor scratches). However, the materials used are lightweight, making the Uno easy to carry around all day long without any issues.
The faces on the display aren’t just for show; They are also indicators of charge status. A smiley face means the Uno is currently charging your device, while two hearts mean charging is complete. There will also be a sad face to notify you when the bank’s battery is low.
But unfortunately, the charging surface only displays intermittently rather than continuously, which means you sometimes have to press the power button to see the status. The Uno’s battery percentage also doesn’t show up unless you press the power button, which would be another useful addition like what some Anker power banks have.
The faces do change based on the battery power remaining in the Uno, but they’re too subtle to read easily, and there are only a few increments available: one for less than 20%, one for 21-79%, and another for 80% -99%.
Very useful, though, is the hardwired USB-C cable, which folds neatly into its own groove on the back. It’s flat and looks pretty durable, although it’s short so is only useful when your device or charger is nearby.
In terms of charging performance, Uno has a power output of 30W and supports two-way fast charging (three-way charging is also possible, but there is no additional speed increase). During my testing, it successfully charged me Google Via the USB-C port, the Pixel 7a charged from 50% to 100% in just over an hour, draining the battery from 100% to 77% in the process, so you should be able to charge it about four times. Charging the bank itself from 25% to full via the USB-C port takes about 90 minutes, which is an impressive performance.
There’s also a trickle charging feature, designed to protect small devices like headphones and smartwatches by delivering low-level continuous current. Just press and hold the power button for three seconds to activate it.
As a high-capacity, multi-port power bank, the Uno offers great value for money, especially considering its 30W power, which is high-end for a compact power bank.
