Australian Open 2025 results: Britons Henry Patten, Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool reach men’s doubles quarter-finals
Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool reach the Australian Open men’s doubles quarter-finals, joined by fellow Brit Henry Patten and his Finnish partner Harry Hliovara on four points one final.
Cash and No. 11 seed Glasspool were forced into a three-set match at Show Court Arena, 6-3 3-6 7-6 (11-9).
The British team trailed 8-3 in the decider before scoring nine consecutive points to seal the victory.
Sixth seeds Patten/Heliovara defeated the American pair of Austin Krajicek/Rajiv Ram 6-3 7-6 (8-6).
The Wimbledon champion will face Monaco’s Hugo Nice and France’s Edouard-Roger Vasserin in the quarter-finals, while Cash and Glasspool face fourth-seeded German Tim Pugh tz and Kevin Kravitz.
Glasspool and Russia’s Alexandra Panova subsequently withdrew from the second round of the mixed doubles match with just 30 minutes remaining before they were scheduled to play.
Their opponents, second seeds Michael Venus and Erin Rutliffe of New Zealand, easily advanced to the quarter-finals.
