Enda McGinley: Errigal Ciaran boss feels ‘eternal pride’ despite All-Ireland Club Final defeat
Boss Errigal Ciaran pointed out the mixed reactions from the semi-finalists who won last weekend.
“Kwara’s reaction after the semi-final was remarkable as they shrugged, shook hands with their opponents, shook hands with teammates and waved dander off the pitch.
“Newbridge is a very different experience and a very different thing for our club.
“Emotions have been really high this week, even when we got in the car we met supporters who were in tears, they were the team in the car. Maybe it was too much. I don’t know, but it was. “A special experience that will stay with me for a long time. “
McGinley, a physiotherapist, said he knew Dara Canavan had to come off immediately after accidentally taking his knee to the head during a challenge with Ooin O’Callaghan.
“I knew from the first reaction he was gone. Unfortunately, I know enough about head injuries. At that stage, the only thing you care about is the lad.”
Errigal Ciaran’s head coach says Ruairi Canavan’s “dazed” problem became apparent after the game.
“When the final whistle went I walked towards him and it was only then that I realized he was in a bit of trouble.
“Both boys are going to the hospital now and I hope they are OK.”
