Cardiff Devils win Continental Cup with victory over Bruleurs de Loups
The Devils then scored two goals in quick succession to cap off the second period. Josh MacDonald and Cole Sandford both scored, giving them a 5-1 lead heading into the final quarter.
Pelini fired into an empty net in the final minute to start the celebrations with a hat trick.
The Devils’ victory was the club’s ninth title in ten seasons since it was acquired by Steve King, Brian Parker, Kelly Hughes and Craig Shostak’s side – who All were in attendance at Windyco Field.
Devils fans have enjoyed some unforgettable nights since the summer of 2014, with victories in the Challenge Cup, playoffs and an Elite League title.
This will forever be etched in the memory and it was only fitting that the Devils celebrate the Intercontinental Cup in front of their home fans.
