Bobsleigh World Cup: Great Britain second in Innsbruck four-man
Team GB finished second in the latest round of the second World Cup four-man bobsled series in Innsbruck.
Pilot Brad Hall and British teammates Taylor Lawrence, Leon Greenwood and Arran Gulliver after the opening round at the Austrian track Moving up from third place to a hundredth of a second to get the silver medal.
It was the British four-man’s third podium finish in as many events, having previously St. Moritz Bronze Medal and Gold in Winterberg, Germany.
They split the two leading German teams, finishing 0.28 seconds behind defending champion Francesco Friedrich and ahead of third-placed Johannes Lochner.
Friedrich’s winning time of 1 minute 40.45 seconds solidified his mid-season lead in the overall standings.
The two-time Olympic quad gold medalist reached 885 points after four rounds, extending his lead over second-placed Hall to 66 points, with Lochner in third.
The competition will resume with two more rounds next weekend (January 25-26) in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
