This Nintendo Switch 2 Feature Could Be a Game Changer
Nintendo revealed switch 2 Shows off some interesting changes coming to the new console – from bigger screens to backward compatibility with games. But one notable feature may be the revolutionary changes to the Nintendo ecosystem.
A brief clip from the Switch 2 reveal video showed off the new Joy-Con. They look larger and have a new button, but there appears to be an additional Joy-Con attachment that turns it into a computer mouse.
Why is this a game changer? A built-in mouse on portable consoles like the Switch 2 means out-of-the-box support for more games, such as real-time strategy games like StarCraft 2, 4X strategy games like Civilization 7, and emulators.

Things are completely different with the Switch 2, as the screen is separate from the Joy-Con and has a built-in kickstand. People can place the console on a table and let the Joy-Con act as a mouse, while the screen sits there. It may not be the most intuitive design, but it does provide a solution to the problem of using a mouse better when playing games on home consoles.
While the Switch 2 is unlikely to become an RTS console overnight, the Joy-Con feature reduces one more hurdle for developers considering porting their games to the Switch 2.
Nintendo may explain more about the new Joy-Con at its April 2 event. Switch 2 Nintendo Direct event.
