UFC London: Leon Edwards to fight Jack Della Maddalena in March main event
British fighter Leon Edwards will face Australian Jack Della Maddalena in the main event of UFC London on March 22.
Edwards, 33, will compete for the first time since lost welterweight belt Visiting American Belal Mohammed in Manchester in July 2024.
Della Maddalena, 28, is ranked No. 4 in the UFC welterweight rankings and has won his first seven fights in the promotion.
He last fought in March last year, impressively defeating Brazilian Gilbert Burns in the third round.
A win for either athlete would put them in pole position to challenge the winner of the title fight between Muhammad and Shavkat Rakhmonov, which is set to take place later this year on a yet-to-be-determined date .
The fight between Edwards and De La Maddalena joins several fights already confirmed at the O2 Arena, including Britain’s Molly McCann against Brazilian strawweight Istrella Nunes.
British heavyweight Mick Parkin takes on Poland’s Marcin Tybura and Ireland’s Shauna Bannon takes on India’s Puja Tomar Strawweight.
