Alejandro Garnacho: Manchester United reject approach from Napoli for Argentina winger
Manchester United have rejected an offer from Italy’s Napoli winger Alejandro Ganaccio.
The Serie A side have made 20-year-old Ganaccio their first target and plan to use the funds raised from Hviča Kvaratschelia’s upcoming move to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, their initial approach to Garnacho fell through, with the offer significantly below the Red Devils’ valuation of the Argentina international.
The exact nature of the communication is unclear but it is thought Napoli mentioned a figure of around £40m.
While United will listen to offers for academy products to help fund manager Ruben Amorim’s rebuild, they are not encouraging offers for either Ganaccio or England midfielder Kobe Mainu.
Speaking on Wednesday, Amorim said Garnacho has a future at Old Trafford.
“It’s obvious. He has talent,” Amorim said.
“I think he changed the way he looked at himself.
“He has found the best way to play in the system and continues to improve in training.”
