A New Mario Kart Is Coming to the Switch 2: Here’s What We Know So Far

Revealed on Thursday nintendo switch 2 Only the hardware to play one game was shown: New Mario Kart. The footage of the game isn’t long, but there are some interesting details that eagle-eyed fans noticed.

The new Mario Kart doesn’t have an official name yet, although Mario Kart 9 is a possibility, but the series’ long list of interesting titles (Super Speedway, Double Dash, etc.) means it’s Not sure yet. However, there do seem to be some changes to the Mario Kart formula that could make this new game very different from its predecessor, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition.

One thing worth noting at the start of the new Mario Kart footage is the possible kart locations at the start of the race. There are 24 markers at the start of the track, which could mean the game can support up to 24 players at the same time. That’ll be three times the number of racers that can be played simultaneously in Mario Kart 8 or its Deluxe Edition, both of which expand to series-high levels of eight players playing at once.

While 24 racers may seem like a lot for a Mario Kart game, the limited footage in the trailer suggests the track could be large enough to easily accommodate two dozen racers.

Another interesting thing to note at the start of the race is that there appears to be a pit lane. Previous Mario Kart games did have some driving space on the sides of the track for taking shortcuts, but this pit lane looks more like a traditional pit lane, used for repairs in traditional racing. Damaged vehicles.

It would make sense if there were pit stops, as the karts appear to have fuel tanks. There are also some buildings next to the track, such as this Yoshi restaurant, that seem to provide energy.

Nintendo does seem to be expanding on different types of vehicles. Most notably, Rosalina appears to be riding a snowmobile.

While this has nothing to do with gameplay, it looks like Mario and Donkey Kong’s looks have been updated to resemble those from the Super Mario Bros. movie.
