WSL: Five things to look out for on return from winter break
The WSL’s return weekend ends with a heavyweight clash between Manchester City and Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (18:45 GMT).
City have beaten Mark Skinner’s side twice in 2023-24, beating the Reds 3-1 in both league games.
United have never beaten Manchester City in the WSL, with their only win over Citizens coming in May 2023 with a score of 2-1.
But heading into the latest derby, the Reds are in an advantage after winning all three of their December games.
United have lost just once in the league so far this season, while City, second in the WSL, have been beaten twice.
They suffered back-to-back defeats to Everton and Barcelona in the Champions League before the winter break, but Gareth Taylor has backed his players to stage a comeback.
“We were frustrated with the mistakes against Everton but it can happen,” he said.
