Woyo Coulibaly: Leicester sign defender in £3m deal
Leicester City have signed French defender Voyo Koulibaly from Parma for £3 million.
Koulibaly, 25, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract, subject to international approval, after agreeing an agreement with the Italian club.
His contract with Parma expires at the end of this season.
He was the Foxes’ first signing of the January transfer window and their first new player since Ruud van Nistelrooy was appointed manager last November.
“It’s an honor to be here. I feel very good, very welcome and the training ground is very impressive,” Koulibaly said via Leicester’s website, external.
“The club has a lot of impressive players. It will be a challenge in the Premier League but one I’m really looking forward to.”
Koulibaly made 88 appearances in three and a half years at Parma, helping the team gain promotion to Serie A last season.
The Frenchman could make his Leicester debut when Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side host Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.
