Rangers: Manager Philippe Clement says his belief is undimmed amid struggles
Patrick Stewart joined Rangers as chief executive in December, following James Bisgrove’s resignation as chief executive this summer.
Chairman Fraser Thornton also replaced interim leader John Gilligan last month.
The men were brought in after the club released its accounts for the year to June, which showed a loss of £17.2m.
Clement took over in October 2023 and won the League Cup within his first few months.
However, he has since failed to build on that momentum and Celtic are favorites to win a fourth consecutive Premier League title and a fourth consecutive domestic trophy.
Rangers – last year’s defeated finalists – begin their Scottish Cup campaign at home to Fraserburgh on Sunday, live on BBC One Scotland.
“I’m a winner and always have been,” Clement added.
“When I was young, no one believed I would become a professional player, and when I became a professional player, no one believed I would make the national team.”
On the transfer front, Clement said there had been no reports of income, while on the prospect of spending he said: “Yes, it’s a possibility, but we’ll see.”
Meanwhile, Leon Balogun and teammate James Tavernier are back in training after their recent absences.
