Hinge’s New AI Tool Wants to Help You Avoid Making a Bad Dating Profile
If you’ve ever stared blankly at your Hinge profile, unsure of what witty, charming prompt answers would attract the perfect match, then this new Hinge feature is for you.
The dating app announced Wednesday that it’s launching a new instant feedback tool that uses artificial intelligence to help you refine and enhance your profile. Now available for English users.
New AI features push you to write more detailed answers and avoid common or boring answers. It gives you different levels of guidance based on your answers, suggesting small tweaks or larger changes. The AI ​​doesn’t completely rewrite your answers. Instead, it can suggest changes, give you ideas for additional details to include or guide you away from cliche answers.
The goal of the AI ​​tool is to inspire you to dig deeper and spark more interesting conversations with your matches.
While you don’t need to do anything with the feedback Hinge provides, you can’t turn it off. Hinge confirms the feature is powered by OpenAI ChatGPT 4o Mini Model.
“The purpose of this feature is to evaluate daters’ profile answers to help ensure their answers are personalized, specific and authentic,” a Hinge spokesperson said. The company uses its own research and data as part of its AI model instructions .
The new feature marks Hinge’s first foray into AI tutoring, an area the online dating app has been dipping into over the past year.
